“ Super cozy place with great vibes. I love how they offer unique twists to common breakfastbrunch food. The roasted oyster mushroom rice bowl was great, although I wouldve wanted it to be a bit more savory personal preference, the chili oil was not too spicy so dont let it scare you! The waiters were super attentive and friendly too, love it! ”
“ For the menu and for a relatively new restaurant, Bebette certainly makes a very good impression! The flavors of the mixed drinks and meals are divine! The menu is purposefully select, and so you will not have 50 choices of meals, but fewer dishes that they make so very well! As I am glutenfree, my only desire would be more choices added that are vegetables with a meat dish. Tim, the owner, is very approachable and gracious. The service was attentive. Loved the atmosphere with one wall brick, choice of lighting, wall hangings, overall design. My father was an architect, I do not give 5 stars lightly for design. ”
“ Wonderful. Everything. What a lovely place! Great atmosphere, pleasant music, good wine. The wild boar ragu was perfectly seasoned and deeply satisfying. Ill be back. ”
“ Beautiful work done on the place. It was sad to see Lanesplitter go but this is definitely an upgrade. This was a soft opening so the staff is still working things out but with that said they were very attentive, helpful and considerate. Little Gems salad was tasty, the homemade gnocchi was excellent and their pepperoni pizza was cheesy good. Will be returning. ”
“ Babette is a standout restaurant in Berkeley that has been part of my life since my college days at UC Berkeley. Initially located in the Berkeley Art Museum, it has since moved to a larger space, expanding its offerings to include a pizzeria. Owned by Patrick and Joan, Babette has consistently provided a highquality dining experience. During my time as a student, Babette was my goto spot for morning coffee and breakfast sandwiches, as well as a quiet place to work or meet friends. The owners have always managed to create a welcoming environment for individuals and groups alike without losing the essence of what makes Babette unique. Despite its smart casual vibe, Babette serves food that could easily be found in a fine dining establishment. The menu changes with the seasons, always focusing on fresh, highquality ingredients. Dishes can range from spicy to tangy, offering surprises that are a testament to the chefs creativity. For food, everything on the menu tends to be phenomenal so go with what your heart desires. For drinks, their cardamom coffee and mint lemonade are menu staples I find particularly noteworthy. Getting to know Patrick and Joan has been one of the highlights of my visits. Their commitment to their craft and their guests contributes to the overall dining experience. Its clear they pour their hearts into Babette, making it more than just a restaurant. Babettes quality and atmosphere have made it a beloved part of Berkeleys culinary landscape for me. Its surprising that it hasnt received broader recognition, such as from the Michelin Guide, considering the owners backgrounds and the caliber of the food. Now, Babette remains a priority whenever Im in Berkeley. It symbolizes a bridge between my past and present. The new space is incredibly well designed, with every seat offering something special. For anyone looking for a memorable meal in Berkeley, Babette is a mustvisit. It combines quality, atmosphere, and a personal touch in a way that few other places do, making it a noteworthy establishment in Berkeleys diverse food scene. ”
“ Came to Berkeley to visit my fiances aunt and uncle for the weekend and also her birthday. Wanted to find a good place to have brunch and this was the place they recommended. Boy this place was not a disappointment. The ambience the vibe the feel was just awesome, they had live music a drummer a bass player and a keyboardist playing some nice jazz music. Had some mimosas and our food plates were absolutely delicious. Love their story and love The organic and sustainably sourced food from local farmers which you can tell by the taste. We are fans and next time we visit we will definitely be back again.. Bravo ”
“ SO good! The food tastes like someone who really loves food created it. The space is refined and styled with love. And honestly, the redwood tree on the back patio is epic. The prefix menu slaps. Even their simple sides are delicious. Always excited to eat there the next time! ”
“ Such a great hidden gem! Karen was wonderful and so friendly. We got there when they first opened and got to snag the best spot on the patio. Very charming under the giant tree. The happy hour margarita pizza was delicious. Perfect crisp, toppings not overdone. We also did the pear salad and citrus salad. The pear was my favorite. Id definitely recommend one of their desserts they even have a few gluten free options. The wife and husband chef duo are also pastry chefs. Very much felt some southern cookin love in those desserts and their portions. We were too busy gobbling down the food and forgot to take any photos. Either way, were definitely coming back. ”
